Dear Readers.

Advance projection of new visual concept can be significant requirement today.
Where I live a place called Tenkawa village has deep inspiration of new type of life style.

Today, I would love to share with friends about what I thought it could be great if all of us can enjoy doing it. no matter where we live in today, My instinct said we all face similar problem in our society of modern world today. Linkage between, foods supply, energy supply, information supply and our precious time to our children and future.

Today's blog, I want to talk with Tenkawa's agriculture, agroforestry.

Not only us, our friends loves Tenkawa's vegetables. even we just grow at small vegetable patch or neighborhood made. This area is great potential, it might be quality pure water.
Of cause limited sun available and temperature has strong gap between night and day.
This can be important recipe. Winter freeze,too.

My point is agriculture in Tenkawa,  our village dose not have farmer as business.
Conclusion of agriculture in Tenkawa is,

*Tenkawa has limited land.
*Tenkawa's vegetable is great taste.
*Tenkawa has NO farmer as business.
*Lots of people might enjoy doing farming or enjoy vegetable that they know where comes from.

Agroforestry in Tenkawa has long history. someone said at least 400 years.
This means, Not only tree plantation, trading, managing, real estate, production has also long history. unfortunately, It went down after cheaper imported trees arrived in Japan and labour costs did not work out. last 40 years, Cedar & Cypress tree plantation gets out of control and became unsustainable & partly dangerous lands. Our society has limited vision due to economy balance today. Conclution of agroforestry in Tenkawa is,

* Tenkawa has long agroforestry history.
* Due to economy, Agroforestry business has small industry today.
* Agroforestry still has a key of sustainability future in rural Japan.

My touchdown of thought is "Hybrid Sustainable Lifeworks".
We must have a vision of 21st century of lifestyle in JAPAN.

Even agriculture in Tenkawa has potential if city people can input energy into agriculture.
It could be more interesting, City people do faming in rural area. even me, i have some ideas.
Organic products are always essence of sustainable lifestyle. So, organic is always for future.
and even more exciting, if you live with wholefoods and using your compost into organic farm.
basically, this is traditional living style but it could be great potential as you become a part of sustainability. less footprint is better lives, but positive footprint reverse damage of our environment.
This is higher living thought. and this can be positive campaign of rural lifestyle. my point is always vision is important. procedure leads by vision.
 
Agroforestry owns rights of the lands today, Without vision from agroforestry, rural lifestyle can not creates. but Agroforestry faced new paradigm shift.  No same business model can work in the future. No mono-crop agroforestry can work out, diversity of living kind has to comingle in sustainable area. Agroforestry requires completely different skill.  More conductor skill than speciality skills.

These two different industries are very important in rural society. Because this is where has most strength in Tenkawa. I could imagine most of rural area is similar.

If our life can be sustainable for future, we are on the way to sustain. Sustainable lifestyle is very difficult with one person, one family..but if many families get together, we can vision strongly.

Long story conclusion,  Co-creative Community Concept with Hybrid Sustainable Lifestyle based on organic and conscious of footprint.

I truly wish we can inspire each other for better future.

Today, I would love to share my thought.

Hirose area ( One of far westend of Tenkawa village's town)
This area is very exclusive. Far away from everything, everybody.

Very rare area, people live up to the top of pinnacle.  

Houses around half way of hillside. Stunning views. 

View from above house. No other house in Tenkawa has this views.

Tenkawa is great place for lifestyle of "Hybrid Sustainable Lifeworks".
City and rural, back and force, switch on and off as life style.
create funds in the city, spend money in rural for beginning as investment,
do a little as possible, relatively nothing... but carbon neutral and detox your mind and body...

This area has potential and owns;

Solar Power Resources (Full Sun Aspect.)
Pure high frequent quality water. (Essence)
Fire place by local woods (Essence)
1.2hr drives from Shimoichi station.
Delivery from post available (Next day delivery.)
Historically, sustained lifestyle.
Deep philosophy (Nara is deep spiritual area.)

Kokuo Shrine sit in the deep forrest.

Kokuo Shrine. Kokuo means KING in English. It might be this lifestyle is like king in 21st century. 

This type of lifestyle can be very popular some of area in overseas. I remembered when I lived in LA and Paris, wealthy family dose owned houses in the city and farm house in the rural area. Long summer vacation spend most of their time in rural farm house. But here in Tenkawa, even Nara,  I don't hear any of these life style yet (it might be someone, I just don't know.). but focus can be sustainable cocreative community as rural lifestyle. and work and enjoy in the city as vibrant energetic condensed time. like a sponges, fill your energy in one area, release energy in the other...

It could be great approach to family who has no country home and a partially uturning family.
It could be one of solution for depopulated area in Japan.

To be honest, I don't enjoy just talking. This is my vision of our future in 21st century.

Beautiful time in Tenkawa, foliage with snow.



NANYU SAI. South of Nara has great potential

Dear Friends and Readers.

I would love to share with you last weekend event called Nanyu sai festival.

This festival organized by Nara Prefecture office promoting and discovering great things around south of Nara. South of Nara has deep history since older capital than Kyoto was Nara in AD7-8th century. and life of south Nara are very unique and interesting.

Boys and Girls Taiko from local area (Kawakami).  Yamabiko Taiko team !!

This festival is not formal like this. This was opening ceremony. Many governors attend this special events.  

It looks like Olympic ceremony, many airplane cross the sky and splay white line upon us.  

This was our booth for selling Tenkawa's souvenir. water, kuzu, rice cracker...etc. 

many idol group performed on stages. this was Nara's popular women's unit. 

 

Gourmet soup called "Ton jiru" pork meat base soup with lots of vegie. only 150 yen per bowl. so tasty. 

Selling grilled fishes. So yummy from river around Kawakami area. just grilled with salt. simple is the best. 

Some booth sells just sweet potato for 100yen each. what a bargain.

This was my mate promote "maki" traditional pine type of plant. This plant originally for buddhism's household. now, new way of usage. Flower arrangement. Love this type of idea.

This unit for walking assist machine. it displayed at Daiwahouse booth. $3000 per month lease. 

my mate was making hand crafted paper at paper booth. Nice experience for children an families.

There were so many other things was happened include woodcutter contest, so many village chaaractor was there and other many many things. I was so busy doing my project with my mate who was entry village lunch box contest.  It was so much fun to do some project with friends.

It's called "Ten-cha" You add hot tea while you eat this bowl. great concept.

Have you ever heard "DA RA NI SU KE" ?
It's a eastern medicine of digestion, loss of appetite, hangover, etc. Daranisuke has history of 1,200 years which means one of oldest medicine in Japan.

Most popular destination in Tenkawa called Dorogawa onsen district owns Daranisuke factory and provides O.E.M brands at each Dorogawa onsen hotels and 

What's Daranisuke ?

There are more hotels in Dorogawa onsen district and more Daranisuke. 

Very interesting. Have you ever heard sight seen destination owns medicine as souvenir ?

The other day, First time I saw one of ingredient of Daranisuke called Kihada (Phellodendron amurense).

Tree bark has color of yellow. Kihada means yellow skin. Quite rare to find kihada in Tenkawa now these days.

Of cause taste is bitter but it won't taste much when you take as medicine.

Delicacy of Japanese vol.1 >>> TOKONOMA WOODS

Tenkawa is little snow last week at Dorogawa district.
Sanjo gatake is also snow covered.

Today, I would love to share about traditional house's guest (drawing) room in Japan.
In my house in Tenkawa also has a room called "Tokonoma".A part of Tokonoma (tatami room) has unit in one side of wall, framed by decorative woods and lifted floor about 20cm. It is like a gallery space in western way that normally, scroll calligraphy and/or paints and flower arrangement. Of cause there are many different manner and rules by different house styles. but more blend into culture and lifestyle.

Tokonoma uses best decorative woods, concept is clear that owner welcomes best room in the house. it's Omotenashi. 

Wiki said that, In this connection I may added that one of the most known American architect called Frank Lloyd Wright got influenced by Japanese architect and using this concept into fire place.

Fireplace built best decorative stones with welcoming warm images. Stunning conceptual transformation.

In village of Tenkawa, Tokonoma's wood supplier still remains. Mr Nasako who lived Tenkawa for many generation dose supplies these woods.

Master of Tokobashira, Mr Nasako showed me his collection in his storages.

Very unique woods, Mr Nasako selected from large area of Nara deep forrest. 

Sprit help crackless wood beams. 

Not only form of woods, Master understands plant deceases and reasons.   

Master told me that this woods had bad decease from where dimple of this wood. 

Spirals and different texture and colors. Variety of woods available around this region.  

Master's house uses shape for best reasons..

Tokonoma is not poplar in city lifestyle, but in regional area still has many houses owns tokonoma,
Very interesting for me.
